Ordering & Subscriptions

Do I have to sign up for a subscription?

Nope! We offer everything as a one-time purchase as well as subscription.

How do I place an order?

You can place a one-time order or start a Seafood Plan directly from our website. We offer curated boxes as well as options to build your own box.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

We work quickly to get seafood packed and shipped, but if you reach out as soon as possible, we’ll do our best to help.

Shipping and Delivery

Do I need to be home when my box is delivered?

In most cases, no. Your seafood is packed to stay frozen the rest of the day even if you’re not home when it arrives. We recommend bringing it inside and into your freezer as soon as you can.

When will my order ship?

We ship early in the week to ensure proper delivery timing. Orders ship Monday–Wednesday and typically arrive Tuesday–Thursday (Friday only in rare delays). If shipping this week would result in a weekend delivery, your order will ship the following week.

If you are unsure about when your order will ship, just ask :).

What if my box is delayed and arrives partially thawed?

If there’s ever an issue with shipping or delivery, we’ll make it right — replacement or refund of the affected product, no hassle.

Quality, Freshness and Safety

Is the Fish Fresh or Frozen?

All of our seafood is frozen — on purpose. Flash freezing at peak freshness locks in quality, texture, and nutrients. In most cases, frozen seafood is actually fresher than what’s sold as “fresh” at the grocery store.

How long will the seafood last in my freezer?

Properly stored, vacuum-sealed seafood can stay high quality in your freezer for 6-12 months. Our seafood is fresh water glazed which provides additional protection. We recommend following standard freezer storage guidelines for best results.

Is frozen seafood safe?

Yes. Freezing is the safest and most effective ways to preserve seafood without additives or preservatives.

Why is your seafood fresher than other brands?

Our Alaskan halibut, sablefish, rockfish and cod are caught by Capt Eric Velsko and his crew using advanced post-harvest methods including immediate bleeding, gutting and liquid ice storage to produce fish that stays fresher longer.

Our Alaskan salmon is caught by the Owens family and other small boat fishers in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Every fish is hand-picked, most all are immediately bled and packed in liquid ice.

All our fish are processed and packed in the United States.

Sourcing & Sustainability

Where does your seafood come from?

Our salmon comes from Bristol Bay, Alaska, where our family fishes. The halibut, sablefish, rockfish and cod are caught by Capt Erik Velsko and his crew about the F/V Kaia and F/V Dangerous Cape in Alaska.

Is all of your seafood wild-caught?

Yes. We only sell wild-caught seafood — never farmed.

Why don’t you sell pollock?

Most pollock is caught using large trawl nets that can have significant impacts on ocean ecosystems. We choose not to sell pollock because it doesn’t align with how we believe seafood should be harvested.

How is Net to Table different from grocery stores or big seafood brands?

We’re not a corporation or a middleman. We’re a fishing family. That means fewer markups, more transparency, and seafood you can feel good about feeding your family.

Cooking & Preparation

How do I prepare your seafood?

Each cut is portioned and easy to work with. You’ll find simple cooking ideas and thaw instructions on our website, and our seafood is versatile enough for everything from quick weeknight meals to special occasions.

Is wild seafood healthier?

Wild-caught seafood is naturally lean, rich in omega-3s, and free from farmed additives. Many customers choose it for both flavor and nutrition.
