Salmon Box FAQs

Is your Alaskan King Salmon wild-caught or farmed?

All of our salmon is wild-caught Alaskan King Salmon, harvested by the Owens family and other small-boat fishers in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Bristol Bay is home to the largest wild salmon run in the world. Every wild king salmon we sell is naturally produced in Bristol Bay's glacial lakes, rivers, and tributaries — never farmed, never artificially raised.

Is your Wild Caught King Salmon skin-on or skinless, and is it boneless?

All our wild caught king salmon portions are skin-on — some of the best nutrients are found right in the skin of wild king Alaskan salmon. Every 6 oz portion is also boneless, so you get pure, premium fish ready to cook straight from the freezer.

Is your Wild Alaskan Salmon considered sushi-grade?

Yes — all of our wild Alaska king salmon is flash-frozen at peak freshness and is considered sushi-safe.

How do you keep Wild Caught Alaskan King Salmon frozen during shipping?

We use insulated shipping containers packed with enough dry ice to keep your salmon frozen solid until it arrives at your door. We ship all orders to arrive within the timeframe required to ensure quality. If, for any reason, your fish arrives warm and the dry ice is completely gone, please contact Capt Luke immediately. We offer a replacement guarantee for any product that does not arrive frozen and in excellent condition.

How is my Wild King Salmon packaged and shipped?

All orders are packed in environmentally responsible (compostable or recyclable) insulation, recyclable packaging, and on dry ice.

We ship early in the week to ensure proper delivery timing. Orders ship Monday–Wednesday and typically arrive Tuesday–Thursday (Friday only in rare delays). If shipping this week would result in a weekend delivery, your order will ship the following week.

When I buy King Salmon online from you, do you ship it direct from Alaska?

We ship from our dedicated packing facility in Chicago to guarantee the best results. The pristine, wild areas where we fish are far from major shipping hubs and dry ice supplies. Moving our catch through a climate-controlled interior route to the Midwest allows us to offer more reliable shipping times and much lower risk of thawing than shipping individual boxes across the entire continent.
